1547. In a little German town a few young women are found mutilated. Another young woman,Freyja Säckler, finds herself accused of witchcraft and murder. Lapidius the alchemist is appointed with the job of taking care of Freya and bring her back to life after a terrible torture session in order to keep on being interrogated about her misdeeds. However, Lapidius will soon realise that the young woman is innocent and that she is being the victim of a terrible conspiracy. En un pueblo de la Alemania de 1547 suceden extraños acontecimientos. Lapidius, el alquimista, debe reanimar a Freyja Sackler, una mujer que ha quedado inconsciente tras sufrir tortura acusada de brujería. Lapidius se da cuenta de que la joven es inocente, pero empiezan a aparecer cadáveres de mujeres que llevan las iniciales F.S. en la frente. Sus investigaciones le llevarán a descubrir una terrible conjura de dimensiones insospechadas.
